Most holiday flights land at Reina Sofia, the main airport, based in the south just 20 minutes drive from Callao Salvaje but you may fly into Los Rodeos, the north airport, which takes a further hour.
Although it started out as a small Canarian village, Callao Salvaje has grown gracefully as its popularity with British visitors has increased. Tear yourself away from your balcony sea view across to the island of La Gomera, and you can start to explore the wide selection of bars, restaurants and shops in the village.
